Jersey Boys Tour

The Chicago company’s production of Jersey Boys, a Tony award winning musical, will have its final performance on January 10, 2010 at the Bank of American Theatre.

The story which details the history of the Four Seasons and Frankie Valli made its Chicago premiere on October 5, 2007 on what was initially a limited engagement. Following box office records and rave reviews, on February 27, 2008 its status changed to a resident production. When Jersey Boys closes it will have had 951 performances.

Tickets go on sale starting at 10 am on September 11 for the last block of tickets for shows from November 29, 2009 to January 10, 2010.

Michael David, Jersey Boys producer, stated that they had come to Chicago to visit, but the Windy City ended up being their home away from home for over two years. He added this was a rare occurrence in theater and that they we quite proud for having made Chicago their home for so long. It is profound and breathtaking. He thanked Chicago citizens who had welcomed them as neighbors.

Lou Raizin, who is the president for Broadway in Chicago, stated that the City of Chicago and Broadway in Chicago had been very privileged to have such a sensational hit in their town for over two years. The hit musical has drawn over two million people from all over the country and world into the Downtown Theatre District in Chicago. Raizin added that they were very honored that Chicago had been selected by Jersey Boys to be the first resident production.


The cast for the Chicago production stars Michael Curio playing Tommy DeVito, Michael Ingersoll, a Chicagoan, playing Nick Massi, Frankie Vallie is played by Dominic Scaglione Jr, Shonn Wiley plays Bob Gaudio. The cast also includes Chicagoan Jonathan Weir and Kevin Crewell. The ensemble includes Jared Bradshaw, Mackenzie Bell, John Michael Coppola, Mike Erickson, John Michael Dias, Steven M. Goldsmith, Alayna Gallo, Tara Macri, Merissa Haddad, Kraig McCreary, Timothy Quinlan, Rashad Naylor, Chuck Webb and Ryan Quinn West.

Jersey Boys tells the story of the life of Frankie Valli along with the Four Seasons, starring: Frankie Valli, Tommy DeVito, Bob Gaudio and Nick Massi. It narrates the journey of four blue collar boys who emerged as one of the largest sensations in American pop music history. They invented their sounds, wrote their own music, and sold over 175 million records all over the world before they had reached the age of 30.

The creative team for Jersey Boys includes Des McAnuff, Tony award winning director, Sergio Trujillo, choreographer, Klara Zieglerova, scenic designer, Jess Goldstein, costume designer, Howell Binkley, lighting designer, Steve Canyon Kennedy, sound designer, by Michael Clark, projections designer, Charles LaPointe, hair and wig designer, orchestrations from Steven Orich, and vocal arrangements, music direction and incidental music from Ron Melrose.

Jersey Boys arrived on Broadway at the August Wilson Theatre in November 2005. The Broadway production earned four Tony Awards: for Best Musical Howell Binkley for lightning design, and Christian Hoff and John Lloyd Young for their roles.

The musical production features lyrics from Bob Crewe, and music of Bob Gaudio, and a book from Rick Elice and Marshall Brickman.
