Jersey Boys Tour

The Chapman Music Hall housed at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center welcomes five of the finest Broadway pieces as part of its Celebrity Attractions 2011-2012 season. From the classic musical “Fiddler on the Roof”, to the heart skipping beats of “Stomp” and last year’s big winner at the Tony’s, “Memphis”, theatre patrons in Tulsa now have more than enough reasons to subscribe.

“Memphis” will kick off Tulsa’s ’11-’12 season. Last year’s Tony Award’s Best Musical winner will set audiences in rhythm with its “rousing music and singing, spectacular dancing and a witty, moving story” (John Simon, Bloomberg News). The musical chronicles the birth of rhythm and blues in the Tennessean city back in the 1950s, thanks to a disc jockey who started the hype amidst the city’s fascination for white-inspired rock n’ roll. “Memphis” will run from November 1 to 6, 2011.

The answer is evidently: audiences in Boston.

The current “Jersey Boys” production has broken Colonial Theatre’s box office weekly record. According to presenter Broadway Across America, for the week ending on Sunday the show pulled in a staggering $1,127,032.
